UAW LOCALS 122 RETIREE’S CHAPTER
MEETING MINUTES Dec 08, 2023

Retiree Chairman Joseph Guarino called the meeting to order on Friday December 8, 2023, at 11:00 am.

The pledge of allegiance was recited followed by a moment of silence for the recently deceased retiree members.

Recording Secretary, Ellen Douglas asked for a motion to accept September 8, 2023, meeting as written. A motion was made and second. The meeting minutes were accepted.

Chairman Report: If you were a member who was eligible for the 2023 Trust OTC benefit, be sure to use your allowance before you lose it! Any remaining 2023 OTC benefit dollars must be used by December 15, 2023. The current OTC vendor will not take orders after this date, and any unused dollars will be forfeited. Call National Benefits, LLC at 877-218-9951 to place your order or have any questions answered.
Retirees made their concerns known of not having computers as well as computer knowledge, along with everything being digital and not having anyone to assist them. Therefore, it's difficult for them to receive all the information. Chairman Joseph Guarino, replied to them you always have the option of a phone call.

Chairman Joseph Guarino, also thanked the UAW National Negotiation Team for remembering the retirees and surviving spouses, giving them a $500 bonus. That will be paid in December for the next 5 years. A question was made on who a surviving spouse was. Then defined as: Qualifying surviving spouses must: be enrolled on the date of the retiree's retirement and deduction taken from the retirees' monthly pension check. After the death of the retiree the surviving spouse will receive a percentage of the retiree's monthly pension check.

Vote for Congress and Senators as well. Exercise your right to vote.

UAW 122 T-Shirts were present for ordering at the September meeting. Retirees had questions about polo shirts and if they could have the shirts personalized.
A representative was available for new orders as well to answer any questions the retirees had.

2024 Trust OTC benefit is forthcoming--keep an eye on your mail for a letter from the UAW Medical Trust in December.

50/50 Raffle purchase: half is given to a ticket winner the other half is for donuts and printing meeting minutes.

A raffle was held.

Next meeting March 8, 2024, at 11:00 AM

Motion was made and second to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 11:50 AM and lunch followed.
